Today's Football Follies

By Sean McCaffery, September 25, 2025

Will this ever come to an end? An email received after business hours, 6p.m. yesterday for a pair of press conferences at both 3:15 & 3:30 today. So once more not the minimum 24 hours, another issue is now on the same work day, those with a typical 9-5 job must ask for a different break time to be in on these, same day. Why is it so difficult to do these things? Some teams, put this out at the start of the week, plenty of time to deal with it. I will attend one tomorrow that was first made known on Monday. I cannot imagine this short of notice in real estate or any of my other interests, wheter it be from small or large PRO groups? I would think the more notice the more attendees, I have been just 1 of 2 people on such things. I had suggested, when that happens, make them more of a 1 on 1 experience with the press members, this may encourage more to join in on the chance of getting alone time with the team member. Further I have suggested they simply have more staffers friends, etc. log in without a name or a fake one, do not turn on video, put hand up, as a question is asked, take it down. When asked if you had anything further, no, sorry my question(s) was already asked. On a practical side, these teams are not just paying one person but a few, why if so few are attending games and media opportunities with the teams. Even more so why do I still have that person if they are not increasing my media presence. Those last two are a whole other discussion.
