CARY, N.C. (July 17, 2023) - North Carolina FC welcomes Sunderland, semifinalists in the English Championship last season, for an international friendly this Friday, July 21, at 7:00 p.m. ET at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The Black Cats become the first English Football League team to face North Carolina FC since 2017, when NCFC played Swansea City to a scoreless draw. The previous year, Premier League stalwarts West Ham visited WakeMed Soccer Park and the two clubs battled to a 2-2 draw in front of a record-breaking crowd of 10,125.
