On August 26, we cut the ribbon on our latest Visa Street Soccer Park and Learning Center at Skyline Park in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado. With twenty more Street Soccer Parks to follow in the coming months against the backdrop of the FIFA World Cup, our movement is gaining steam.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, who championed the project, declared playing street soccer to be “the most Denver thing you’ll do all week,” and then spent an hour on the field playing with youth from across the city.
This milestone was made possible thanks to our partners: Visa, Bank of America, Adam R. Scripps Foundation, UNIQLO, the Colorado Rapids, Downtown Denver Partnership, and Denver Parks & Rec.
Together, in Denver, we’ve demonstrated a national model for how soccer can reimagine and revitalize public space! And we have lots more planned for Skyline . . .
