A severe hit was taken on the future of the Whitcaps in the MIB games with this loss. Vancouver will wind up their Group B games Thurs. 9 a.m. ET with the Fire, locally to their city on TSN & TSN Radio 1040. To stay in the tourney they need a win and need help from other teams, also in the balance with this game are 3 points in the MLS standings. The first half saw the 'Caps with the lions share of the ball but they were trailing 2-0 entering the second stanza, thanks to Jordan Morris (video on Soccer Seattle Magazine). He drew a PK as his shot hit the hand of an oppnent, Jasser Khmiri and his hand and Lodeiro sent it home. At 34' he scored, both incidents are on Soccer Seattle Magazine. Raul Ruidiaz also found the back of the net as he put away a cornerball. The 'Caps were shourtanhanded from the start of these games and Maxime Crepeau went down early in the 2nd half with a left hand injury. Homegrown Thomas Hasal then made his first MLS appearance thwarting Ruidiaz & Lodeiro just after stepping between the pipes. Also getting his first MLS minutes was Cristian Gutierrez, at left back.
