Kaleigh Riehl & Evelyne Viens are now officialy in the fold. Viens has a 2 year deal as Riehl a 1, each have another one year option.

GM Alyse LaHue stated "As part of our draft day preparations it was imperative to us to look at playes that would be excited and ready to join Sky Blue from day one and help take us to the next level. Evelyne was always a top target for our club and frankly, we did not think Kaleigh would be available at the #11 spot, so being able to bring in both players of this high caliber is tremendous.

Viens:

The # 5 pick out of USF had 77 games for 73 goals, 169 points and 360 shots, taking all-time USF and AAC records in those areas. Her senior year had her guiding the team to a record 16 wins and the 3rd round of the NCAAs. WIth 25 goals her last year, she set the single season record for her team and conference. In USF lore she is now tops inĀ  shots, 113 & GWG, 10. In AAC she holds the top spot for ppg 2.65 & goals per game 1.25. 2x an USC All-American and thrice over The American Offensive Player of the Year. Ridiculous numbers.

SBFC HC informed "Viens is a quality player that brings more pace to our roster and has the ability to find the back of the net."

Riehl: Chosen #11 in the draft, out of Penn State, started all 101 games and now one of only 11 players there to get more than one All-American honor. Over her 4 years they won 72 games, a pair of Big ten regular season titles, 3 Tournies and the 2015 NCAA title. NCAA leader in minutes for an outfield player with 8,847, her 101 starts are good for 3rd in the team's books. Her senior year she was an USC Scholar All-American first teamer, USC All-American 2nd team, All-North Region first team and All-Big Ten first team, as well as a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist.

She shared "I am thankful for the opportunity to sign my first professional contract with Sky Blue FC. It's an exciting time for the club with the move into Red Bull Arena and I can't wait to be a part of it.

Coombe told "We are very delighted to welcome Kaleigh to Sky Blue. We look forward to her joining and learnnig from our experienced defenders."
