Italian defender Emmanuele Sembroni scored twice to lead hosts New York Cosmos to a 6:0 win over Kingston Stockade FC in the 2019 NPSL’s (National Premier Soccer League) Regular Season Finale at Uniondale’s Mitchel Athletic Complex on Saturday evening.

The victory also gave the NPSL’s North Atlantic Conference first-place Cosmos a 13-0-1 regular season record and home field advantage heading into the postseason.

Cosmos opened the scoring against Stockade (7-3-4) in 28th minute when Sembroni tallied his first of two off an assist from Albanian international defender Ansi Agolli.

Two minutes later Sembroni scored again off a similar set piece from Agoli to make it 2:0.

Montenegro forward Bledi Bardic and Salvadoran international midfielder Junior Burgos added to Cosmos tallies in 44th and 45th minutes, respectively, for a 4:0 advantage going into the intermission.

After newly signed midfielder Naeem Charles made it 5:0 in the second half, midfielder Giuseppe Barone closed out the scoring for Cosmos hitting a 20 yarder with six minutes remaining for the 6:0 final.

Cosmos will kick off the postseason on Wednesday (July 10th) when it hosts Brooklyn Italians SC in the North Atlantic Conference Final at Mitchel Athletic Complex at 7:30 pm.
