HARRISON, NJ (Friday, December 27, 2024) - NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced it has traded midfielder Yazmeen Ryan to the Houston Dash in exchange for a league-record $400,000 in allocation money and a 2025 international roster spot. As part of the transaction, Gotham FC also traded $80,000 in intra-league transfer funds to Houston.
“Playing for Gotham these past two years came with many unforgettable moments, victories, and challenges that have shaped me into the player and person that I am,” said Ryan. “I want to say thank you to Yael, Juan, and the rest of the coaching staff for bringing me to Gotham and supporting me these past two years in my growth on and off the field. I’m forever grateful for my time here and being part of the club’s historic seasons.”
During the 2024 regular season, Ryan started 22 of the 24 games she appeared in. The midfielder recorded five goals and five assists in league play, leading Gotham FC in assists. Across all competitions, Ryan registered nine goals and ten assists, including in the NWSL Playoff Semifinal against the Washington Spirit, where she assisted forward Esther González in scoring Gotham FC’s opening goal.

In 2023, Ryan appeared in 21 games with 17 starts in the regular season, notching a goal and an assist. En route to the club’s 2023 NWSL Championship, Ryan scored in the NWSL Quarterfinal to help the club past the North Carolina Courage. She also started in every playoff game for the club in 2023 and 2024.
Ryan joined Gotham FC prior to the start of the 2023 season after being traded by the Portland Thorns.
