A Rundown on the ENYYSA Leagues

By Sean McCaffery, March 17, 2020

This time of year is when most of the leagues in the local region put it in gear, not this time, thank you Cronavirus. The Assoc. has advised all 9 of the leagues under it to put off matches until April, staying in line with the USSF and the best for the health and well fare of all.

Below see what most are up to:

LIJSL, the largest in ENYYSA with its 1,500 travel teams has already had the convention cancelled, that is a first in 38 years, yes we were at the first one at a table for Shep Messing Soccer World. Now they have put off league play until April and even then, will take a wait and see approach. The Long Island Cup, the first event for local soccer will not be played, it had been set for next weekend.

CSJL, this oldest of all youth leagues in the nation will be shut for at least another month, Ditto for Metro Kids.

BAYSL is looking to give it a go April 25, should conditions allow.

SIYSL will look to the end of the month to re-evaluate and give it a try April 25 .

EHYSL will revisit what to do on tax day, and start up thereafter, this also holds for the East Hudson Academy.

CDYSL, they did not hold their 10th Annual Coaches Workshop. Their league was set for a late start, April 26, they hope to keep that date.

CNYSSL will take a look at going on April, 10 then set a date.

The 6 figures worth of players and 1/4 of that again with volunteers, ENYYSA covers from Montauk to Canada. Players are aged from 5-19 under the Assoc., covering all leves, intramural, travel, premier and Children with Special Needs.
