Red Bulls 1 up Orlando

By Sean McCaffery, July 22, 2019

At 1-0, another shutout by Luis Robles with the 7th goal from Brian White at 32' got the visitors the win yesterday. This was the last of a trio of games in 8 days, leaving the team in the thick of things for the playoffs with 34 points from their 10-8-4 record. In those 8 days and 3 games, 6 of 9 points were secured, those 3 were lost in a poorly played game with Toronto and all goals in the Hudson River Derby had calls to thank for them, not encouraging for the higher level of play expected in the playoffs. In 4th place, just 5 points behind the Union at the top of their table makes each game very valuable. The goal began with a take away by Amro Tarek, dishing to Kaku who then found White with a ball beyond the defense and allowed Brian to run onto it and he now leads the team in goals, for Kaku it was his 4th assist on the year. Robles now has 5 blank sheet for the year and 68 overall. The unsold Aaron Long was at outside back as Lawrence was rested, Muyl was also rested, left behind and did not travel. RBNY with 37 goals is in 4th and has the 6th best goal differential in MLS play. Next up, the Crew June 27 @ 7:30.
