On the conceding four goals, while scoring four...

Yeah, we’re at the moment giving away too much, so that’s for sure. To score four goals, to be up 2-0 and 3-1 at home, we left points on the table tonight, for sure. The chances and the goals that we give away in certain moments are broken plays where now there can be a little bit of chaos, or there’s a few second balls that we don’t take care of or that we don’t win. On a night like tonight, D.C. has, in a lot of moments, four guys in their top line, and now if we don’t take care of certain second-ball situations, then they’re going to just start running guys through. Our ability to deal with some of those situations wasn’t what it needed to be. So we’ve got to continue to look hard at how we can deal with those things in a better way.

On the physical errors and defensive moments after scoring...

Yeah, look, we have to continue to take our ideas and take our package of football and make it more complete, to be able to sustain it for longer periods, to be able to, as I touched on earlier, manage certain moments of the game that ultimately turn decisive. On a night like tonight, we played a lot of really good football, we score some very good goals, and we have to now understand the little details that will allow us to be an even better team. Some of those are things that are easy to see — our ability to handle certain situations defensively, our ability to shift around a little faster, our ability to deal with runners coming from the second line. There are other things that maybe aren’t as obvious, but are just as connected to all of those things. So we will continue to look hard at ourselves, continue to make sure that the good things continue to get even better. But this is the challenge now for a young team, with a new team, to accelerate that learning curve. We said that to the group in the locker room afterwards, that obviously a night like tonight is a real test. It’s a night that we should reward ourselves with three points, and we only take one. So we will make sure that we push hard and understand now how to take nights like this and turn them into even more.

On setting in the team…

Yeah, of course, I think it was a bit normal to feel frustrated. Things for me personally, weren't going the way I expected. But I mean, it was a brand new team for me. Brand new league is the first time that I play in this league, so of course, I mean, it comes with, with getting used to the way the team plays, the play style on this league and thankfully, I have teammates and staff around me who always gave me confidence, who support me.

On learning from veterans…

Yeah, of course. I mean, it's, it's a blessing to be able to play with these types of guys who have played the biggest matches, you know, Champions League, played in the biggest clubs in the world and just thankful that every day, I get to learn from them who they are as people, the way they work. They've given me all the confidence in the world as well. They understand, you know, sometimes it's like this, as an attacker, you go several games without scoring, it's normal to feel frustration, but they've been there by my side, and I'm very thankful that I get to learn from them and see them every day.

On the result...

I mean, I’m a little bit down. I’m not happy. I think we could have just won this game, but it didn’t happen. So I think we just have to keep going. I don’t think we can say anything again, because we couldn’t win.

On what went wrong...

I don’t think I can blame anyone on our team. We kept our head up, we kept going, and we tried everything to win this game. But sometimes things don’t really go well, and I think we just have to keep working harder so that maybe we can win the next game.

On not maintaining a strong lead...

Listen, for us, I mean, our ideas with and without the ball stay the same. I think, like you said, we went up 3-1, and to concede right after the goal we scored — a great goal from George — it sucks, you know. But I think it’s just the mentality to bounce back and keep going in the game, you know, and not let them go 3-3. Then we go 4-3, okay, that’s great, and then 4-4. I mean, it sucks the way we concede those goals. But our things stay the same, our ideas stay the same. It’s just we improve on it, we look at the video, and it gets better going into the next game.

On what happened on the second and third goals...

No, I saw them. I looked at them in the locker room, but again, it sucks the way we concede those goals. The second goal, I believe, was a second-ball moment. I mean, I could have done a little better on my part. I didn’t want to foul, obviously, because I had a yellow card, but they’re going behind, we try to block the pass, they go behind and score. Then the third one, that was the one when Tai Baribo scored, right? And again, maybe a better shifting moment from our back line. But listen, that’s the game, and those are our ideas in the moment. That’s decisions that our players make, and there’s no right or wrong in the moment. And if it happens, it happens, and we just got to move on.
