New York Red Bulls Head Coach Sandro Schwarz

 On match against Chicago…

Of course, they have the quality, especially then in the offensive line, with their runs and good players in keeping the ball and then with a lot of numbers in in their box runs, but at the end, we have to defend altogether so and what we have to prove, especially to the last game against inter Miami and to have the  highest pressure on the ball, that it's not so easy to play behind our back line, I think that's very important. And then also to be very serious, very strong in our box, defending, and when we have our recoveries, to use our moments in our transition, and to play with a lot of confidence with the ball, without risk. That's clear. But play with risk confidence, what we have seen a lot of times in our games, but with a clear direction, then also with our deep runs, which is necessary to create our moments, to create our chances.

On improving road struggles…

So what I want to say is, in my answers, we can handle the situation. We can really handle the situation. And of course, it's not the best feeling, especially our games on the road. We know this topic we can talk really open about it. So we played 12 games, home games, 26 points. So that's top. That's really, really top and but we also played 12 games on the road. This is only seven points. So then you see completely what we have to improve, especially then. And this is compared with the numbers with everything, and when you don't play so dominant in each game on the road, then you need your transition moments, especially on the road, and this is a big part, and that we lost some points on the road, and this is the picture of the season today. But this is a good message, each game is the next chance, to change your feeling, to change your emotion, to change your atmosphere, everything and the chance is on Saturday in Chicago.

On starting matches stronger…

t's clear. It's not only one point to be honest, it's not only one point. For example, when you  see and when we analyze the first two goals, which you can see against the inter Miami, is then very simple, only to talk about, okay, we have to be ready, and our center backs have to be more ready. But I think it's all together to be very strong and in these moments, in these dangerous moments, top of the box, on the side the crosses, set pieces, to feel the responsibility to block the shot, to block the final pass, to block the cross, to be concentrated in set pieces. I agree that's then concentration to be very strong in these 12 and this is, I think these are the points. And it's not only one point that would be very easy directly to change, but on the other side all these points, we have seen this so many times in a really good quality. And this is our basic behavior. First of all, when we are talking about our ball position, we have to do our job very seriously in our defense behavior. And it starts with our strikers, then with our midfield players on the side, our winger players, then our back line. This is very important to start all together, not to bring our guys in a one against one situation in a big space, because then it's always possible to lose a one against one duel against a good quality. It's more than it makes more sense for us, for our philosophy, to bring our players in situations where you can lose the duel, but next to him, around the ball directly is the next player that he's able to win this duel, and I think that's very, very important for us in our identity, how we want to defend.

New York Red Bulls Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel

On changes needed for this match…

Yeah, we now have a big game, but I think we must calm down a little bit. I think for sure the last two or three games, was not what we expected to be honest. I think it’s not everything, like we’re rolling out right now. I think we have good moments also in the season, and I think if we just come back with the confidence that we have with the right mentality for the game against Chicago. Also, I think what we produce, we have so many times in this season. And then I think just calm down a little bit and trust ourselves. And I think we will have a good game against Chicago.

 On Gustav Berggren..

We're excited to receive him here. Like it's always a positive thing, if we have a new player, and I hope he can have success with us, here with this club. And I don't know so much about him, but I like what I’ve see in the videos and when I talk with the coaches and so respect, he can help us a lot.
