Red Bull New York II (4-0-2, 11 pts.) defeat FC Cincinnati 2 (1-5-0, 3 pts) 3-1, on Sunday night at MSU Soccer Park.

New York opened the scoring in the 16th minute when forward Mijahir Jimenez played a wide ball through to midfielder Dennis Gjengaar who laced the shot to the top right corner. 

FC Cincinnati 2 answered quickly in the 19th minute when Stefan Chirila played a ball through to goal with Cheikhou Niang one on with the goalkeeper to make it 1-1. 

Red Bull II pulled away in the second half behind Gjengaar’s second goal in the 49th minute as he picked up a loose ball in the six-yard box from a corner and struck the ball in the back of the net.

New York doubled their lead in the 57th minute when defender Connor Faello played a ball forward to midfielder Nate Worth who played first time ball to midfielder Andy Rojas who placed the ball in the bottom left corner in the 57th minute.

Gjengaar recorded his first career MLS NEXT Pro brace and scored his first and second career goals for Red Bulls II. 

Rojas scored his second goal of the season and seventh career goal in MLS NEXT Pro. 

The midfielder has scored a goal in back-to-back matches.

Rojas scored his second career goal against Cincinnati.

Worth recorded his second assist of the season and the sixth of his career. 

Jimenez earned his third assist of the season and the third of his career.

The forward has two assists in his last three appearances. 

Faello recorded his first career MLS NEXT Pro assist. 

Midfielder Marco Morigi and defender Jason Bori made their MLS NEXT Pro debuts.

New York are now unbeaten through their first six matches of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, which is the second time the club has achieved the feat in club history.
