New York Red Bulls Head Coach Sandro Schwarz
On tonight's win and the next two matches….
Yeah, what I mentioned before, very important. When you -- now three draws in a row with the last two home games with these red cards, it was a similar story, and this was then very important that you get the confidence back in your style, how you want to play, and this is because it's difficult. Every game, every weekend is very difficult to win. And you see it, also, today against a good opponent. They have quality, very good players, especially in ball position, in the attacking situation.
On the bench tonight…
Yeah, it's important. It's important to be ready on match day that we have this concentration, this energy, also, from the bench, and this is important when you have some difficult moments in the game. Eli had some good runs. He scored an important goal. Cam Harper, he trained the last weeks very well, and I'm happy that he also had the situation with an important goal today.
On less possession and goals…
Yeah, thank you, first of all, for the congrats. We controlled the game in our defense behavior most of the time especially with our fast line when we started our pressing and we had a lot of good moments, good ball-winning situations, also in the opponent's half. We had some good transition moments, especially in the first 20, 25 minutes, and then we scored, also. I think it was very good. After that, we sometimes lost a little bit of control with the ball in some situations, and with the first attacking situation from New England, they scored after the cross situation. But in the second half, the same picture, we were very good the first 15, 20 minutes. It was very important that we scored again, and yeah, at the end, good reaction after 3-2. You never know what can happen in the last five, or six minutes, but it was then a very good reaction and I'm very happy that two players from the bench came in and they scored.

On being on the scoresheet once again…
"Obviously I think it was important to bounce back from the game last week. We had a really good week of training, and we were really focused. With this game coming in, we had a really good start, scoring so early and then we kind of made it a little difficult on ourselves. But sometimes when you have not been getting the wins, and you finally get the win it’s a little bit harder to get over the line, but we managed to do it tonight.”
On bouncing back from 2nd conceded goal…
The response to their second goal was amazing obviously. I think when a team is 3-2 with 4-5 minutes left or little bit longer you think they are going to have another as the momentum is on their side. Then we usually try and see those games out but we managed to get a little quality in the final third and Cam takes the goal well and then we have that breathing room again. But obviously, it is important to analyze, we shouldn’t have conceded that goal in the first place but yeah it was a really good counter from the guys to bounce back and score such an important goal at a time where the game could have went the other way and they could have started putting pressure on us.
New York Red Bulls Defender Noah Eile
On the ‘next man up’ mentality…
"Yeah, of course, yeah. It was very tough to get the suspension and the red card, and I think of how everyone on the team worked hard in that game and also supported me after the game, which was nice to see. I think we have a great team spirit. Everyone supports each other after things like that. Yeah, the team spirit is great, we have a really good group of players and human beings too. We enjoy being with each other.”
On bouncing back from Miami…
“Yeah, it was very good. As I said we had this loss and a few draws before which we’re not happy about, so I think it was very important for us to win today even though we didn’t play at our best. It was most important to get the win. That was the most important thing.”
New York Red Bulls Forward Elias Manoel
On the team remaining optimistic…
It’s really good to come back to win. There are a lot of good teams that are playing well. It was really important to keep the consistency because even though we had some unfavorable results, in some games we didn’t lose as well. This consistency is going to be really good at the end of the competition.
On the meaning of the shirt…
Where I lived in Brazil, they’re going through a really terrible moment right now. The rain and storms destroyed a lot of houses of families that I know. So, the shirt is just to support the families there and for them to know that I’m praying for them here.
