The striker from Sporting Kansas City, Alan Pulido will represent El Tri on Oct. 7 facing Netherlands and the 13th against Algeria. All of whom upon their completion of national team service will have to be out a while as per MLS Covid protocols. Alan arrrived in KC at the end of 2019 for a SKC record setting transfer fee out of Chivas and has 5 goals over 13 games for Mexico. He has played for his country at the 2011 Copa Amerrica , 2014 World Cup and lastly in Sept. 2018 taking on the USA & Uruguay.
In this his first year of MLS play, he has been vital for SKC who are now in 3rd place of the Westen Conference. Tied for the team lead in goals with 6, he had a pair Sat. in Houston, a 2-1 win. Leading the team with 4 assists, 3 during the MIB games, his offensive will be missed.Over his 9 regular season starts, they own a 6-2-1 record and average 2.2 goals per game.
From Ciudad Victoria, he has been with Mexico at the U-20 & 23 levels also. 2011 saw him spearhead them to the Concacaf U-20 title with a trio of goals, then onto 5 games in their World Cup in Colombia as Mexico took 3rd.
A great showing at his current home field was had by Alan as the U-23's took the Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Tournament title, he had a goal in their 3-1 semis win over Canada. His 5 goals in these games had him as the top goal getter and they went on to the 2012 London games, and later that same year to the Toulong Tourney title in France.
Pulido broke though to the senior level Jan. 29, 2014 with a hat-trick in downing S. Korea in San Antonio during a friendly 4-0. A pair of months later facing the US and he chipped in another for a 2-2 draw and was picked for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Feb. 2017 saw Alan get his 5th goal for his nation in another fiendly. this time with Iceland.
