United Soccer Coaches made it known that defender, Raymon Gaddis has been named as the recipient of this year's Jerry Yeagley Award for Exceptional Personal Achievement, this is to be awarded on Jan. 16 during the USC convention.

Each year this honor is bestowed upon an ex-NCAA athlete for doing things above and beyond service to the game at large. It is named after the US Soccer legend, who ruled the game with the IU Hoosiers for many decades. We have been honored to have known him since 1985 or so.

Given that we have been to a few events, photographed a good number of them and brought the NY Cosmos out to the Ronald McDonald House of LI and a former photographer of SLIM, Mike Anderer is heavily involved with it, this is a great thing for us at many levels.

With the MLS Cup coming to Columbus Saturday evening, MLS Works, the charitable arm of the league and the Crew had the reveal of a newly done fitness room at the facility.

No idea of how strong or how good of a trumor it is the that the Monteal Impact will be changing their name, I for one think it is a bad idea, it has been an identity for local soccer for decades and would hurt them.

 The four brought up to the first team are Jean-Aniel Assi, Sean Rea, Nathan-Dylan Saliba & Rida Zouhi, they are first time pros all and with deals including a 3 year option. As they are valid now, the 4 are good to go for the CCL game Dec, 15 with Olimpia at 8 p.m. ET in Orlando.
