They did it in dramatic fashion, a very late goal off a Kaku corner with an assist from fellow Long Islander and St. John's Men's Soccer alum, Tim Parker, his first of the year, 4th overall, to his back line mate, Aaron Long. The goal put Long as the #1 scoring defender in team lore. The also had some help from their frenemies, FC Dallas who beat Miami 2-1. At this time RBNY are 6th and as #'s 1-6 do not have a play in game, they control that part of their destiny, though not an easy task with NYCFC & TFC too close out the regular season.

A pair of historic names in North American soccer went at it yet again and the MLS title holders prevailed in a home game for the 'Caps. All goals, it was a pair struck, came in the last 45'. With this being their 2nd game in but 4 nights, major changes for the home team following the win with the 'Quakes still had them with a club MLS record of 7 Canadians starting.

Sounders Ruidiaz was the newsmaker with a goal and assist as he came back after a quartet of games.

First he is asymptomatic and all others team and staff are testing negative as recent as yesterday. This email was sent out at 5:46 p.m.  as the result of a test that was known in the morning by their own admission. Those going to the game, press etc. who may have a concern, underlying ailment & what not are well on their way as they may get in to the building 44 minutes after the email was put out, possibly more than 6 hours after this was known. The player of course was not named, I do expect it to come out. Some will attend the game having no idea of this development.

Both teams predate the MLS, so this is a game with some actual history, not just a quarter of a century and starts at 10 p.m. ET.

They have not been to this historic football field in some 15 years but hope to not get burnt by the Fire and climb the ladder in the Eastern Conference, NYRB kicks off at 7:30. Nothing has made since in this year of Covid, so the fact that the visitors have 25% more points, means less than zero as to who will win this game. For NY, it hinges on which of their teams show up, firing on all cylinders or misfiring more often,  they live by the press and tend to die when not pressing. We will watch on MSG at 7:30 p.m. ET it is also Red Bulls Radio and TuneIn in English y Espanol.
