New York Red Bulls Head Coach Sandro Schwarz
On falling in penalties…
We are disappointed about the ending especially in penalty shootout, but I think we had chances in 90 minutes to win and in the last moment was a lucky moment for us, and then Toronto had a big chance for sure. We have now one point and I said this directly in in the locker room two messages. So we are not the first team which was losing in the penalty and I'm sure we will be not the last one. The second message is we have everything in our hands. So, it's very clear the situation of what you say against Pachuca. This is what we have to prepare now. We have to win. If we want to come in the knockout stage, this is clear and this is what we have to prepare now.
On what Toronto did to frustrate the team in the first half…
Yeah, they played a 4-4-2. The last game was only one game that they played in Miami, a 4-4-2, but most of the time they played with three center backs and this was different and I think we controlled in some moments also in the first half the game and also in pick up situation in the last 5% I would say especially in the final third in our deep runs. This is this was today not good enough to create more chances to also create the motions with these chances. This is what we missed today in the final third. Yeah, but then the penalty shootout came, and this was an unlucky night.

On Toronto's Performance…
They got a lot of quality. They are a good team. The first half they had a lot of the ball, which we were okay with because I didn't think they were too dangerous. We had a couple moments where we could almost have caught them in transition, but it didn't quite pan out. They made it tough for us. But as the game opened up in the second half, I thought we had our moments and on another night, it could have gone our way.
On His Performance Tonight…
It's always nice to get a game and to be somewhat busy tonight a couple of days is always nice. I think the defense and Daniel Edelman and Ronald Donkor in the middle did a really good job of limiting their dangerous opportunities. At the back, we could be happy with how we defended all night, and they have a lot of talent on their side. It's tough to keep these guys quiet. I thought we did that tonight which is disappointing we couldn't pull it off and penalties.”
New York Red Bulls Forward Julian Hall
On finding out he was starting...
It's always great news. I was excited, a little bit of nervousness, but it's all good feelings in the end. I'm just happy the coaching staff put their trust in me. I was ready to give it my all today.
On offensive performance...
It happens, it happens in any game. I think that this is just a good moment to work on and to improve, to get better for the next game.
