This innovative idea first trotted out last year has local higher level teams hositng open training session by the local colleges to attend. The St. John's University Women's Soccer program was the local one I went to and it as well attended. It afforded the local coaches the rare opportunity to see a college training session up close and personal, while interacting with the staff and student athletes. Head Coach Ian Stone and his staff were well prepared and the session moved along seemlessly, culminating with a question and answer session to highlight the day. Being done from April 2-8 of this year I hope all the snow is gone by then. Locally on the 3rd will be the women's programs at both Stony Brook and St John's with Fordham coming in on the 4th. Attend and also get a free 6 month membership with United Soccer Coaches.
