Once, yes 11 but not Oceans at the Kicking & Screening Film Festival

By Sean McCaffery, May 2, 2019

Now in it's 11th year and to mark it just that many screenings wil occur over the 4 days from full length features, micro shorts, completly scheduled out with panel discussions, film makers Q & A's, post screen parties, raffles and more. The curtain goes up on June 4th. Here is the schedule of events.

June 4: Foosballers: who has not played, next question who has played  professionally? I for one give these "athletes" , yes I am choking on calling them this more                 credit than the eathletes of video games which is huge. Follow 6 as they prep for the World Championships.

Maintenant on Peut Tranquille: during the 1998 World Cup, a cop and his partner seek out a big fish.

GOAAL: a short-short on the playmaking of Diego Maradona

June 5: A US Premiere, The Return of the Cup, 30 years, a full generation not just a soccer generation (3) since the last, German Cup Eintracht Frankfurt  brings it                   home via a 3-1 win over Bayern Munich. This is a great back stage view of the goings on during their run to the Cup.

Lunch Break  a soccer game to be played in the gym as the teachers conduct their meetings?, not so good of an idea, 2 players are caught and sent of to                  the discipline committee, but no player left behind and the others won't abandon them to this fate.

Saudade, a Portugese writer perfectly describes the life of a soccer fan.

June 6: Coach: Tracey Hamm the coach of San Francisco State wants to get the waivers from the USSF for coaching but due to the state of the women's game in the                states, denied. Off to the UEFA A, a far more difficult course, this is her story.

Yasmine in it's US Premiere, a Moroccan female player in France, living with her equally illegal resident father and his girlfriend sees him picked up after                       soccer practice. Now she must make a decision on just how much she loves the beautiful game.

Aim HIgh a short making its US Premiere. The Lleides GIrls team is so successful that it gets into the boys game. See how it played out.

June 7: Soccertown: Kearny in the shadows of Giants Stadium and literally down the block from Red Bull Arena and a hotbed of lat 80's USMNT soccer players Tony                Meola, Tab Ramos & John Harkes. See how they laid the foundations for those who would follow.

Battle For New York. The lead up to the first Hudson River Derby from the fans perspective. Now with a pair of NYC area MLS teams, this game was                             played for the first time in 2015, did it go ULTRA well?
