- New York Red Bulls suffered a 4-3 loss to Toronto FC II on Sunday afternoon at York Lions Stadium.
- Toronto opened up the scoring in the 12th minute, when a Toronto FC II shot was blocked and Hassan Ayari followed up the rebound and struck the ball into the bottom left corner.
- Toronto doubled their lead in the 39th minute, when a Toronto fast break led to Nathaniel Edwards passed a ball across to Julian Altobelli, who took a touch and then placed the ball into the top of the net.
- Toronto added a third in the 57th minute, when Ayari cut inside and curled a shot with his left-foot off the inside of the post and into the back of the net.
- New York answered back in the 63rd minute, when midfielder Mohammed Sofo played in a corner kick and defender Juan Gutierrez volleyed the corner into the back of the net.
- Toronto increased their lead back to three in the 75th minute, when a ball was played into the feat of Markus Cimermancic and he curled a shot with his left-foot into New York’s net.
- NYRB II goalkeeper Aidan Stokes kept the club in the match when he stopped his first career penalty kick after Hassan Ayari attempted to go to Stokes left-hand side.
- Red Bulls II scored their second of the match, when forward Tanner Rosborough cut inside and played a ball into the feet of forward Frank Ssebufu, who laid it off for defender Dylan Sullivan, who placed the ball in the top-left corner with his left foot.
- NYRB II brought the match within one a minute later, when Ssebufu played Rosborough through on goal and he placed the ball past the Toronto FC II goalkeeper.
