Beat the Heat

As of Thursday, the forecast for Sunday night is going to be in the mid-nineties.

Weather conditions, even at night, will be similar to the ones New York faced against LAFC and Charlotte. Both games resulted in 2-0 losses for the Red Bulls.

Deep in the heart of Texas, New York will have to manage to fend off the heat, as well as a red-hot Austin FC team.

No Looking Ahead

Possibly the biggest match of New York’s season, an Open Cup semifinal match against Orlando City, is next on the schedule after Austin.

Against an Austin FC team that is unbeaten in their last seven MLS matches, leaving Q2 Stadium will be a tough task for whatever lineup New York rolls out.

Any lack of focus or looking ahead will surely be punished against an Austin team that has scored ten goals in their last four.

Austin Attack

Austin leads MLS with 42 goals in 21 matches. They also lead the league with 48 assists.

Stopping them will not be an easy task, as there is not just one name to circle for the New York defense.

Nine different players have two or more MLS league goals for Austin this season. The leader of those names is Sebastián Driussi, who has 11 league goals so far this season.

For a Red Bulls team with a league-best xGA total in road matches, something will have to give on Sunday night.
