Missing were the locker room area and tunnel fireworks as was the loss for NY and they bested TFC, 2-1, behind a brace from TInari as Ben Mines contiuned to impress with an assist and Valot who will surely get a lot of time with the first team had the other assist. It was a bit like Atlantic City as Harrisson had many cards dealt, 4 to the visitors and 2 to the home team. NY showed some early season grit overcoming a 1-0 defecit. This was the first time NYRB won its season opener in their 4 year history. Just 11 minutes in Matthew Srbely got in behind the defense to put one home. 5 minutes into the 2nd stanza, Tommy Redding comitted a foul for a pk, luckily Evan Louro was up to the task turing away the Ben Spencer effort. In the 62nd minute, Andrew Tinari tied it up from outside the penalty area. NYRB had a staggering 31 shots with one TInari put home the winner from Valot as he crossed it in front of the goal. The assist was the 2nd of the pro career from MInes, with Politz, White, Echevarria, De Vera and Casseres all getting in their first USL pro time.
