NYCFC Wins 1-0 over Inter Miami but Remain in Limbo

By Sean McCaffery, July 20, 2020

To mis quote a good book, he who is first shall be third. They ran away last season with the East Conference title and MLS lead in points, only to crash out of the playoffs at CitiField facing Toronto, now they may have played their last game in the MIB despite winning. They are now dependant on others as they did not control their own destiny going into this most recent game with the first year team. Their 2nd half was far better and even better still after the water break. The addition of Parks was an injection of energy. Once 5 other groups are finalized and the dust settles, they will know their next move, to a game or to NY.

As discussed there were major changes by HC Delia, in for the injured Moralez was Mitrita, replaced with 11 minutes to go, by Maxi as well as the goal getter, Ismael for Heber. Also stated by coach in an earlier presser there was more pressure from the opening kick, they held possession, 20% more, keeping the ball wide but until they went in another direction, over the top, they did not score, but Mitrita fed Tajouri-Shradi a long pass for a 1-v-1 with Robles and he buried it.

Please check back here with  details from the post game presser.
