After 3 highly successful years both on and off the field, President Jon Patricof will continue on as a member of NYCFC's Board of Directors, a move seen as certainly keeping great ties with the team and Patricof. Come the end of the year, and his contract the move will help to facilitate a seemless change at the top as his departue is not for months and the seach for his successor is underway. Having his finger on the pulse of the team, leaves him full aware and able to lend any and all assistance needed a the team moves forward. Possibly the biggest feathers in his cap are the now trio of straight seasons making the MLS playoffs and the tremendous growth of the academy.
The team has in his time advanced in many areas not limited to:
- stability by way of it's academy
- more direct dealings with the varied supporters groups
- NYC Socccer Initiative, one of the many civic minded activities taken up by the club
Jon stated, " It has been an honor to help develop NYCFC during this phase of its evolution."
