NEW YORK CITY FC HEAD COACH PASCAL JANSEN
On turning the page after a tough result and preparing for a busy schedule... “Well, the schedule is tough. You have a lot of games in a short period of time. So that’s always a good thing, especially when you’re coming off a bad result like we were from last Saturday. So the focus has to go to that game, obviously as fast as possible. But the difference is, compared to the game we played in Vancouver, we didn’t play well. And last Saturday against Charlotte, we played well. We played a good game. It was a tough result, but game-wise, strategy-wise, or play style-wise, it was a good game from our side, but unfortunately not good enough. But it’s something that helps you go forward into the next sequence of games.”
On Forward Talles Magno’s progress and readiness for more minutes... “I’m satisfied with the progress he’s making, as much as he could do at this moment. I’ve also mentioned a couple of times already that he’s in competition with some good players up front in the attacking positions. So that’s something you have to take into account, and that’s something we do throughout the week. We see everybody train and try to get the best out of them in order to be ready to play. So there are a few factors, and he’s close to closing that gap with the things that we addressed and spoke about when he returned to New York. I’m fully confident that he will get his playing time and be important for us down the line.”

On matching his career-high goal tally and his personal expectations... “We were just talking about that today, that I’ve scored the same number of goals as last year. I think every year you set goals for yourself, to improve and give a little more. Luckily it’s happening this season, and I’m happy with the moment I’m in.”
Y bueno, nosotros llegábamos y no podíamos convertir. Lo que no hacés en un arco, se convierte en el otro. Así es el fútbol y hay que corregir esos detalles.”
On finishing chances during this stretch... “We had several chances to win the match and I think we deserved to take the three points. But football is decided by details. They did well in two plays and didn’t have many more chances. We were getting into positions but couldn’t convert. What you don’t score on one end, you concede on the other. That’s football, and we have to correct those details.”
