NYCFC making news again

By Sean McCaffery, February 28, 2018

USL affiliate side, San Antonio FC has transferred Sebastien Ibeagha after like Cadwell spending pre season in Florida, LA & Mexico. This 26 year old back line player had been with USMNT U-20's, is the USL Defender of the Year and became the 9th new player since last season. He is very energized with it being great to arrive out of the USL in San Antonio and to be in preseason with NYCFC. Quickly learning of the quality of his teammates, and how tight of a team they are joining preseason and welcoming others in and receive guidance made it seemless. As did Caldwell he remarked on how they want to win a title he seeks to continue to improve and give the best he can for a team hungry for victory in a winning city and strive for such every day. HC Viera is impressed by Sebastian everyday by his persona, strength and knowledge of the game. There is always room for improvemtn but it is not a concern as he grasps things rapidly and is one to make many inquires desiring to better himself. Viera is pleased that they were able to pick him up. Sporting Director Claudio Reyna observed that he fit in well in preseason, in being the Defender of the Year he is ripe to return to MLS as he brings with him knowledge from his past games. Born in NIgeria now out of Missouri City, he began with the Houston Dynamo academy, passing through varioius years to train with the top team before heading off to Duke. His 4 years with John Kerr Jr. had him make 1st team All-ACC in 2012 & 2013, then off to Europe with Danish sides Horsens and Fredericia and Iceland with Fram Reykjavik. Those 2 years lead him back to Houston with Rio Grande Valley FC Toros and Rayo OKC then finally to SA FC in 2017. This strong center back did well under Darren Powell with 30 league games and then off to his new team.
