NEW YORK CITY FC II HEAD COACH MATT PILKINGTON
How important is it to get out to an early lead…
"It's very important. We talked about that before the game, starting the game well, starting the first half well, starting the second half well, imposing ourselves on the game early and I think it makes a big difference so we're not chasing games. So, they did that really well tonight. We started both halves pretty well and I think it really helped.”
On what has been working for the team lately after winning two in a row...
“I think part of it is just being able to train and spend more time together as a group and just keep connecting the new players we have and keep working together. So, it's still early on in the season, even though we play a lot of games, because we have a new group, so we're still working on improving a bunch of things and, so the more time together, the better.”
NEW YORK CITY FC II FORWARD SEBASTIANO MUSU
On scoring his first goal of the season...
“I feel very good, I was looking for the first goal for a long time now. I’m very happy to have scored the first goal, but the most important thing is that we won today, with a clean sheet.”
On making an early impact...
“This is something we’ve worked on in training. We work every time to make sure we are ready from the first minute. This is the most important thing is that we’re ready to score and we’re focused on what we’re doing. We got the ball back and we were ready and focused, and Piero [Elias] gave me a beautiful ball, and I scored.”
