Texas Health Mansfield Stadium and Shell Energy Stadium to Host 2026 Concacaf W Championship
- Eight-team knockout competition to be played from November 27 to December 5

Miami, FL (Tuesday, April 21, 2026) – Concacaf has announced that the 2026 Concacaf W Championship will take place from November 27 to December 5 and will be hosted at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium in Mansfield, Texas, and Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas. The tournament’s Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Play-In matches will be held in Mansfield, while Houston will host the Third-Place Match and Final. The 2026 Concacaf W Championship is the first of three major centralized competitions in Concacaf’s new women’s national team calendar (2025–2029) and will serve as the Confederation’s qualifier for both the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The tournament will feature the region’s top eight women’s national teams, including the United States and Canada—the two highest-ranked teams in Concacaf—and six additional teams that have qualified through the 2025/2026 Concacaf W Qualifiers (listed in alphabetical order): Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, and Panama. Texas Health Mansfield Stadium is a new multi-use soccer stadium complex scheduled to open this summer, serving as the home to North Texas SC, the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of FC Dallas. The venue will also host the Czech Republic as a FIFA World Cup 2026 Team Base Camp Training Site this summer. Shell Energy Stadium is a modern, state-of-the-art venue and home to both Houston Dynamo FC and the Houston Dash. Located in downtown Houston, the stadium hosted numerous Concacaf competitions, including matches in both the men’s and women’s Concacaf Gold Cups. “We are thrilled to host the 2026 Concacaf W Championship at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium and Shell Energy Stadium, two football-specific venues in Texas. The four semifinalists will then advance to Houston, where the Third-Place Match and Final will be held on Saturday, December 5. Quarterfinal matchups and each team’s path to the Final have been determined based on the FIFA Women’s Rankings as of April 21, 2026, with teams seeded 1 through 8 and the highest-ranked team facing the lowest-ranked team in the opening round: QF1: United States (1) vs El Salvador (8)QF2: Canada (2) vs Panama (7)QF3: Mexico (3) vs Haiti (6)QF4: Jamaica (4) vs Costa Rica (5) Following the Quarterfinals, the four winners will advance to the Semifinals and automatically qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027. The four losing teams will move into the Play-In round, where they will compete for Concacaf’s two slots in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Play-Off Tournament. Should the United States—already qualified as host of the Olympics, as confirmed by FIFA and the IOC—finish as one of the top three teams, Concacaf's final Olympic berth will be awarded to the fourth-place finisher. The United States enters as the defending champion, having won the 2022 Concacaf W Championship in Monterrey, Mexico, with a 1-0 victory over Canada in the Final. Six Concacaf teams competed in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, marking a Confederation record. Following the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, Concacaf will launch the inaugural W Nations League. The Group Stage will take place in February and April 2028, followed by the Finals in November 2028. The competition will serve as the qualifier for the 2029 Concacaf W Gold Cup, with the second edition scheduled for the summer of 2029.
