New York opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Winger Cade Cowell played a ball down the right wing to forward Julian Hall who took a wide touch past a defender, took two dribbles, cut back and played a cross into the box to winger Jorge Ruvalcaba who placed a right footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net.
Miami leveled the match in the second minute of first half stoppage time. Midfielder Yannick Bright played a ball wide to midfielder Rodrigo De Paul who took two touches and crossed a ball far post to midfielder Mateo Silvetti who struck a one-time volley into the back of the net.
Inter Miami gained the lead in the 55th minute. De Paul played a ball forward to forward Lionel Messi who took three dribbles across the box and had the ball deflected by a New York defender to forward German Berterame who struck a one-time shot into the bottom right corner.
The Red Bulls leveled the match in the 77th minute when midfielder Emil Forsberg played a free kick to Hall, who turned on a defender and play a cross across the six-yard box that was put into the back of the net by midfielder Adri Mehmeti.
Ruvalcaba and Mehmeti scored their first career MLS goal.
Hall recorded his first and second assists of the season and second and third of his MLS career.
The forward has at least one goal contribution in his last three appearances. This is the first time in his career he has recorded a goal contribution in three consecutive matches.
With the assist, Hall became the second-youngest player in club history and sixth-youngest player in MLS history to record at least one goal contribution in three consecutive MLS matches.
The Manhattan, NY native tallied two assists in a single match for the first time in his career. He is the seventh youngest player in MLS history to record two assists in a match at 18 years and 18 days old. Cowell recorded his third assist of the season and the 18th of his career in MLS.
The winger has an assist in back-to-back MLS matches. Forsberg delivered his second assist of the season and 18th of his MLS career.
Goalkeeper Ethan Horvath made five saves on the night which is the most saves he’s made in a single match in his MLS career.
Following Saturday’s match, New York will head back to Sports Illustrated Stadium on Wednesday, April 15 to face off against defending USL Championship winners Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in the Round of 32 of the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
