- Philadelphia opened the scoring in the 63rd minute. Defender Jordan Griffin played a cross into the box that was headed into the back of the net by midfielder Lennon Harrington.
- New York equalized in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Defender Aimar Modelo played a wide through ball to forward Mijahir Jimenez who played a cross onto the six-yard box to midfielder Paul Sokoloff who placed his attempt into the back of the net.
- The match went to a penalty kick shootout where New York Goalkeeper Aidan Stokes made three saves. However Union II took a 4-3 advantage through a seven-round shootout.
- Sokoloff scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal and is the fifth-youngest player in club history to score a goal in a match at 16 years and 256 days old.
- The Brooklyn, N.Y native also is the third-youngest player in club history to score a goal in MLS NEXT Pro.
- The midfielder is the second-youngest midfielder to score a goal in club history.
- Jimenez tallied his first assist of the season and the third of his career.
- Modelo tallied his first career MLS NEXT Pro assist.
- Defender Ryan Scuro made his first career start in MLS NEXT Pro.
- With the draw, New York have gone unbeaten in their first four league matches for the fourth time in club history, and third consecutive season.
- The tie also makes Red Bulls II unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions against Philadelphia.
