The Cosmos head into their first road match of the 2026 season, traveling to
Spokane, Washington to face Spokane Velocity. The matchup presents an early
test, as Spokane finished second in USL League One in 2025 and enters at 1-0
following a season-opening win over Union Omaha.
The Cosmos will look to build on the positives from their home opener while
tightening up on both sides of the ball. Darren Sidoel’s 72nd-minute goal brought
energy to Hinchliffe Stadium and marked the club’s first goal of the 2026 sea
son. Now on the road, the Cosmos will look to translate that momentum into
a complete performance, emphasizing cohesion, discipline, and attacking intent
against a strong Spokane side. The cross-country trip presents both a challenge
and an opportunity as the Cosmos aim to establish their identity early in the
season and earn a result away from home.
