Today's Football Follies:
After a 12+ hour yesterday, even in advance of a press conference today, I tried on an ipad to watch and a phone to hear a game, got the 1st half then where I was got too noisy. This afternoon in advance of the presser announced earlier in the week, it was even mentioned to me yesterday while at a FIFA World Cup and New York Fashion Week event, confirmed today at 12:35, I made sure to see the 2nd half in order to speak intelligently during this zoom event. I log in a few minutes before 5, the zoom tells me it is tomorrow! I check the emails, nope, it is today. Knowing there are only maybe a dozen or so are on these, if such a change was made, a group text would be best, 17 minutes in advance, it was pushed to tomorrow? Many are unable to access their personal email from work, I was at my computer, never seeing it. While on the computer relative to their game, another team emailed me to talk, this also I missed. Anyone with a 9-5 had to rush to a place to join this, maybe leave early, great the job allows and you are able to do your thing, but oh no, not today. It is zoom, a simple set up, do one on another topic, different people, past player who wants some attention, whoever, explain any new things for the coming season, I don't know, anything but this. May I bill them for my time, for what I passed on to be present for this nonevent. Might be a long year after a short off season. These teams in their ultimate wisdom, tend to assign points, register late for a game, etc. then have you not able to attend games, do we get a free pass? yes punish those who do your job for you, getting the word out. A game for me with travel is 12 hours, easily another 6 with editing photos, so 3 full workdays, oh no you asked to go to our game past deadline, they are not all the same, shame on you, how about just NO. New year, same stuff.
