CARSON (Wednesday, October 1, 2025) – In a last-minute comeback victory, Toluca FC defeated the LA Galaxy 3-2 on Wednesday night at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. The win marks Toluca’s first Campeones Cup trophy in their first participation.

LA Galaxy opened the scoring in the 36th minute via penalty kick by Diego Fagundez, giving the LA side the lead into halftime. Toluca FC returned to the field for second half without head coach Antonio Mohamed, who was ejected from the match at halftime. That did not shake the Mexican club, who found the equalizer in the 53rd minute. LA retook the lead in the 83rd minute through a great play scored by Gabriel Pec. Five minutes later, Franco Romero tied the match for Toluca 2-2.
The match carried thrilling moments through the final seconds of the game, when a corner kick at 90+4 minute found Federico Pereira connecting with the ball past goalkeeper Novak Mićović for Toluca’s game-winning goal of the night.
Tonight’s Campeones Cup victory becomes the third trophy won by Toluca this year under Argentine head coach Antonio Mohamed at the helm (LIGA MX Clausura 2025, Campeon de Campeones 2025, M Campeones Cup 2025).
