Mex Tour Details

NEW YORK AND MEXICO CITY (Thursday, August 28, 2025) – The Mexican Men’s National Team has announced a star-studded roster for their two upcoming MexTour matches – September 6 vs. Japan at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, and September 9 vs. Korea Republic at Nashville’s GEODIS Park. Japan, ranked 17th in the world (No. 1 in Asia), and Korea Republic, ranked 23rd (No. 3 in Asia), have likewise revealed strong rosters.

All three nations are kicking off their “road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” having already qualified for the tournament — positioning these games as an early preview of next year’s tournament. With the matches being played during the official FIFA match window, the teams will bring their World Cup-caliber squads.

Mexico is powered by Fulham striker Raul Jimenez, AC Milan goal scorer Santiago Gimenez and San Diego FC winger Hirving “Chucky” Lozano, making his return to the international stage.

Japan is led by their captain, Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endō, along with Real Sociedad playmaker Takefusa Kubo (affectionately referred to by fans as “The Japanese Messi”), and Brighton & Hove Albion’s speedy winger Kaoru Mitoma.

Korea Republic (commonly known as South Korea) will feature their legendary captain, LAFC forward Son Heung-min – widely regarded as the best Asian footballer in history.  He is joined by one of the top center backs playing in Europe, Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae, and Paris Saint-Germain rising star, winger Lee Kang-in.  Also on the roster and earning his first national team call-up, St. Louis City SC midfielder Sangbin Jeong.
