  • New York Red Bulls (9-8-6, 33 pts.) defeated the New England Revolution (6-9-7, 25 pts.), 5-3, on Wednesday night at Sports Illustrated Stadium.  
  • The Revolution opened the scoring in the fifth minute, when defender Peyton Miller attempted to play through New York’s backline and it found the feet of forward Leo Campana, who hit a left footed shot into New York’s net.
  • The Revolution added a second in the 30th minute, after defender Brandon Bye played a low cross which found midfielder Luca Langoni, who fired a shot off the post and it hit a New York defender and ended up in the back of the net.
  • The Red Bulls narrowed the lead down to one in the 56th minute, when midfielder Ronald Donkor laid off a pass to midfielder Daniel Edelman, who struck a right-footed shot that deflected off of a New England defender and found the back of the net.
  • New York scored the equalizer in the 70th minute, when midfielder Mohammed Sofo played Donkor at the top of the box, who flicked it to captain Emil Forsberg, who found forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and his left-footed shot attempt found the bottom right corner.
  • The Red Bulls took the lead in the 72nd minute, when midfielder Dennis Gjengaar played a square ball at the top of New York’s box to Forsberg, who hit a left-footed curler at the top of the box and found the bottom of the net.
  • New York earned a fourth goal in the match in the 83rd minute, when Donkor played in Choupo-Moting and he placed his shot attempt in the bottom left corner.
  • The Red Bulls added a fifth goal in the 88th minute, when forward Julian Hall earned a penalty kick and Forsberg stepped up and buried his attempt.
  • New England scored a third goal in the 90’+3 minute, when an errant pass ended up in New York’s box and Leo Campana volleyed his attempt in the bottom right corner.
  • Edelman scored his first MLS goal of the season and the third of his MLS career. It was his first goal since June 24, 2023, against Atlanta United FC.

  • Donkor recorded his first career MLS multi-assist match and became the 12th player in franchise history to record three assists in a single match.
  • Choupo-Moting scored his 12th and 13th MLS goals of the season, which ranks tied for fifth in MLS.
  • The forward has scored a goal in five-straight matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
  • Forsberg tallied his sixth MLS assist of the season, which leads the club and sets a new Red Bulls career-high for him.
  • The captain also scored his 8th and 9th MLS goals of the season and the 17th and 18th of his MLS career.
  • Forsberg now moves into second place in franchise history for most goals scored by a midfielder in their first two seasons with the club.
  • Forsberg has now scored three goals and tallied two assists in his career against New England.
  • Gjengaar tallied his first MLS assist of the season and the second of his MLS career.
  • The Red Bulls scored five goals in the second half of a regular season match for the second time in club history (August 26, 2006).
