  • New York Red Bulls (8-8-6, 30 pts.) fall 2-0 to the Philadelphia Union (13-5-4, 43 pts.) on Saturday night at Subaru Park.
  • The Philadelphia Union opened the scoring in the ninth minute, when defender Kai Wagner delivered a corner, which was deflected towards goal and saved by Red Bulls goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, but forward Indiana Vassilev finished the ball into the roof of the net.
  • The Union doubled their lead in the 24th minute, when Tai Baribo played a square ball to midfielder Quinn Sullivan, who played forward Bruno Damiani into New York’s eighteen-yard box and fired a shot to the far post, which hit the side netting.
  • Defender Sean Nealis made his 177th appearance for the club across all competitions, which moves him into sole possession of sixth place in franchise history for most appearances by a player.
  • Following Saturday’s match, New York will face off against New England Revolution on Wednesday, July 16 at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
