Nashville Soccer Club’s GEODIS Park to host MexTour 2025 match between Mexico and Korea Republic on September 9
NEW YORK & MEXICO CITY (Tuesday, June 3, 2025 ) – The Mexican Men’s National Team returns to Music City for the first time in four years to take on Korea Republic, one of Asia’s top soccer powerhouses.
The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) today announced that Nashville Soccer Club’s GEODIS Park has been selected to host the previously announced MexTour 2025 international soccer match between Mexico and Korea Republic on Tuesday, September 9, in a contest featuring two top national teams at full strength.
Tickets for the match will go on sale this Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m. local time via www.SomosLocales.com, where fans can also find tickets to the three previously announced MexTour matches: June 7 vs. Switzerland in Salt Lake City, UT, June 10 vs. Türkiye in Chapel Hill, NC, and September 6 vs. Japan in Oakland, CA. A fifth tour match will be announced at a later date.
Mexico last played in Nashville in 2021 at Nissan Stadium, in a 3-0 win over Panama in a MexTour match. This will be Mexico’s first visit to the 30,109-seat GEODIS Park, the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States and Canada, and home to Major League Soccer’s Nashville SC. The stadium is an official venue of this summer’s 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Korea Republic currently leads Group B in AFC’s World Cup qualifying and is well-positioned to book its place in the 48-team field with a win or tie this Thursday, June 5, against Iraq. The squad is powered by one of the world’s top forwards, Son Heung-min, who captains both South Korea and the English Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur. Other standouts include Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lee Kang-in and Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae. The Nashville match will be played during a FIFA international window, allowing both teams to bring their top squads.
The MexTour has become one of the most celebrated sports properties in the United States, with a robust list of blue-chip commercial partners, appearances by celebrities and influencers, and an average attendance of over 50,000 per match in the last decade, thanks to its estimated fan base of 65 million people (study: Nielsen Sports). The tour has delighted sports fans across the nation with marquee soccer matches against top opponents at world-class venues, including all but one of the U.S. stadiums scheduled to host 2026 FIFA World Cup matches. More than a game, each tour stop features the AT&T Futbol Fiesta fan fest, as well as fan and media events throughout the markets. The MexTour allows the team to prepare for important competitions such as the Concacaf Gold Cup and the FIFA World Cup.
The 2025 MexTour is sponsored by 7UP, adidas, AT&T, Burger King, Crest, Gillette, Casillero del Diablo, Clamato, El Mexicano® Brand, Gran Centenario Tequila, McCafe at Home, Michelob ULTRA, Old Spice, Peñafiel, The Home Depot, Squirt, and Strauss. The matches will be broadcast nationally on the TelevisaUnivision family of networks, Fox Deportes in English, and the Univision Radio Network.
