- Nashville opened the scoring in the 34th minute, when midfielder Patrick Yazbeck carried the ball to the top of New York’s eighteen-yard box and fired a shot into the right side of the net.
- The Red Bulls equalized in the 56th minute, when midfielder Cameron Harper picked up the ball and sent a cross to the back post of Nashville’s goal, where forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting headed his attempt to the far post and scored.
