Gotham FC and Forward Jéssica Silva Agree to Contract Extension |
HARRISON, NJ (Tuesday, December 31, 2024) - NJ/NY Gotham FC announced today that the club and forward Jéssica Silva have agreed to a new short-term contract, which extends through June 30, 2025. “I’m so happy to continue representing the Gotham FC colors,” said Silva. “I’m determined to give my all and show what I’m truly capable of. Unfortunately, 2024 didn’t go as planned, but now it’s time to step up and show the world who the real Jéssica Silva is. The best is yet to come. Let’s do this, together!” Silva joined the club in August via a free transfer from SL Benfica Women, making seven appearances for Gotham FC thus far across all competitions. The Portuguese international scored her first goal for the club on October 2, netting Gotham FC’s ninth goal in a 13-0 win against Frazsiers Whip Women FC in the CONCACAF W Champions Cup. Silva recorded her first NWSL assist for the club in a 2-0 victory over the Chicago Red Stars, setting up forward Esther González in the 90+8’ minute. “Jéssica is a very talented and experienced player who made meaningful contributions in her short time with us,” said Gotham FC General Manager and Head of Soccer Operations Yael Averbuch West. “We are delighted that she has decided to stay with the club.” |
