Scott Parker's side return to Turf Moor on Tuesday night (7:45pm), as the Clarets host Coventry City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Burnley will be aiming to continue their unbeaten home run, after securing back-to-back 1-0 wins in the league, following Saturday's victory at Ashton Gate.

The Clarets are now just two points off top spot in the league prior to Tuesday night's clash, which could see Parker's men move up to 1st with three points against the Sky Blues and if results elsewhere to go in their favour.

Coventry head to Lancashire following a well-earnt point against Sheffield United at the weekend, with the Midlands side sat 17th in the Championship before the midweek fixtures.

The opposition

The Sky Blues are in their fifth consecutive campaign in the Sky Bet Championship, after achieving promotion back to the second tier in the 2019/20 season.

After reaching the top-flight in 1968, Coventry went on to establish themselves in the First Division, staying there until 2001, before relegation back to the Championship.

That was just the start of some tough years ahead for City on and off the pitch, as the Sky Blues then found themselves relegated once again in 2012, but this time to League One.

Off-field issues with the club going into administration the following year meant Coventry would go on to play their home games at Northampton and Birmingham City, with a relegation to League Two then coming in 2017.

It took them just one season to return to League One, with an instant promotion via the play-offs, before rising back to the Championship in 2020 and then returning to the CBS Arena in 2021.

Progress has been made since returning to the second tier, after a 16th place finish in the first year back was followed by 12th the following season. A play-off place was secured in 2022/23 and then a 9th place finish and an FA Cup semi-final last season.

In the dugout

Interim boss Rhys Carr was appointed earlier this month following Mark Robins' dismissal and the temporary manager has secured two draws from his first two games.

After earning a point at the Stadium of Light against league leaders Sunderland in a 2-2 draw, Carr then sealed another point on Saturday, as the Sky Blues drew with Sheffield United at home.

Carr started out at Cardiff City in a sports science position, before moving into a development coach role in 2012 and eventually departing to Bristol City a year later.

Following two years with the Robins, Carr joined Sheffield United ahead of their upcoming 2019/20 Premier League Campaign, with the 38-year-old staying at Bramall Lane for just over two years.

January 2022 saw Carr move to Bristol Rovers, but after just six months with the League One side, he moved on to join Premier League side Wolves to become a first team coach at Molineux.

Carr then departed Wolves this summer to join Robins at Coventry, working alongside George Boateng, with the pair now leading the Sky Blues.
