Making his second appearance in the MLS All-Star Captain Fan Vote presented by Captain Morgan is Luciano Acosta, who wore the armband in the 2023 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target. The reigning MLS MVP will be challenged by Chicho Arango, the current leading goal scorer in MLS, hometown favorite and MLS Best XI selection Cucho Hernández, and global soccer icon and World Cup champion Lionel Messi of Inter Miami CF.
The captain will wear a custom armband designed by local Columbus artist and Captain Morgan partner, Adam Hernandez. The armband is unique to the 2024 MLS All-Star Game and highlights the importance of encouraging fans to own their own spice and unleash memorable moments for everyone.
Introduced to the All-Star voting process in 2023, fans had the opportunity to nominate a potential captain from their 11 player selections for the 2024 MLS All-Star team. Of the players selected for the 2024 MLS All-Star team, the four players who received the most captain nominations from the fan vote are placed on a ballot for fans to indicate who they would like to see named as MLS All-Star captain.
