Today's Highlights

MLS All-Star Week continues with an MLS WORKS event, MLS and LIGA MX training sessions, and a concert featuring five-time GRAMMY Award-nominated and multi-platinum superstar Khalid to top off the night:

MLS WORKS All-Star Day of Service presented by Target sets out to pack 100,000 healthy meals for children and families

The MLS All-Stars and LIGA MX All-Stars take to the training grounds for their first day of training sessions

A special MLS All-Star Concert presented by Target will take center stage at The Commons in Downtown Minneapolis

MLS WORKS All-Star Day of Service Presented by Target

To kick off MLS All-Star community festivities, MLS WORKS, the League’s social responsibility platform, U.S. Hunger, and Target will provide local fans and All-Star guests an opportunity to give back to the Twin Cities. Today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Target Plaza Commons (1001 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis), volunteers will work side by side to pack 100,000 healthy meals for local children and families in need. Meals will be distributed through Keystone Community Services and Second Harvest Heartland . After volunteering, participants will enjoy a family-friendly celebration with food, music, entertainment, games and more.

MLS and LIGA MX All-Stars Begin Practice Sessions

Both the MLS All-Stars and LIGA MX All-Stars will hold their first training sessions of the week on Monday, August 8 ahead of the 2022 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target on Wednesday, August 10.

The MLS All-Stars will kick off training camp at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN at 11:15 a.m. local time. LIGA MX begins All-Star Game preparations at Life Time Sport in Eden Prairie, MN at 5 p.m. local time.

MLS and LIGA MX All-Stars Media Day

MLS All-Star Head Coach Adrian Heath, MLS All-Star Captain Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, and MLS All-Star Defender Walker Zimmerman will then be in attendance for today's MLS All-Star team press conference at 1 p.m. local time.

On the LIGA MX side, Head Coach Diego Cocca, Atlas FC's Camilo Vargas, and Club Deportivo Guadalajara's Alexis Vega will be at the LIGA MX All-Star press conference at the National Sports Center.

MLS All-Star Concert Presented by Target

Five-time GRAMMY Award-nominated, multi-Platinum superstar Khalid will take center stage at the MLS All-Star Concert presented by Target tonight at The Commons in Downtown Minneapolis. Gates open at 6 p.m. Rising talent and Twin Cities-based singer Miloe is the opening act. All proceeds from the concert will benefit The Alliance, a non-profit organization that focuses on regional equity at the intersections of racial justice, economic justice, environmental justice, and health equity within the Twin Cities.

2022 MLS WORKS + Target All-Star Community Day:

A dedication ceremony to officially unveil a new soccer mini-pitch at the Mt. Airy Boys & Girls Club will take place at 10 a.m. Media availability with MLS Commissioner Don Garber and other executive participants will take place following the ceremony.

MLS All-Star Hometown Heroes Showcase:

MLS, Minnesota United, Black Players for Change (BPC), and community leaders are teaming up to celebrate a selection of local diverse, innovative, and impactful leaders at MLS’ All-Star Hometown Heroes Showcase. The private event will feature a panel conversation that will highlight the leaders and their organizations making positive impact in one of four areas – education, mental health, food security, and social justice.

MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration Presented by Coca-Cola

Soccer Celebration presented by Coca-Cola, is a free pregame festival for fans of all ages. From interactive fan zones to music, games, autographs, free giveaways and more, Soccer Celebration is the ultimate fan experience taking place off the pitch. At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, Soccer Celebration will feature a performance by Nur-D, one of the fastest-rising hip-hop stars in the Minnesota music scene.

MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T 5G

Providing fans with a fun and uniquely competitive take on the intracontinental rivalry, the stars of both leagues will be on display as ten players from each team compete in this ultimate test of skill. MLS and LIGA MX players will participate in a mixed zone at the stadium following the event.

2022 All-Star Week Event Merchandise

Fans interested in gearing up for the 2022 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target may purchase event specific merchandise in the coming weeks. The adidas All-Star jersey and anthem jacket will be available starting Aug. 1. Fanwear and other event merchandise including Fanatics Brands headwear and t-shirts; Mitchell & Ness sweatshirts; Wincraft coolers, magnets, banners among other items will available now on MLSstore.com . Fans in the Twin Cities can find All-Star branded product at various local retailers including Dicks Sporting Goods, Target and Minnesota United’s team store at Allianz Field starting Monday, Aug. 8. The event retail truck will be featured at major All-Star events including the MLS All-Star Concert presented by Target, MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration presented by Coca-Cola and on match day at the stadium.
