Monaco piled more misery on PSG after a convincing 3-0 win over the runaway leaders at the Stade Louis II.
Wissam Ben Yedder scored twice (25' & 84') and Kevin Volland added another (68') as Monaco got back to winning ways after being knocked out of the Europa League in midweek.
"It was an excellent performance from us," said Monaco coach Philippe Clément. "It's a style of play I want to see more of from my team. We are still growing as a team and I only expect us to keep improving."

| Rennes move into the top three |

Rennes bounced back from their Midweek European exit by thrashing lowly Metz 6-1 at Roazhon Park.
A hattrick from Sehrou Guirassy (40', 58' & 64'), a brace from Martin Terrier (18' & 27') and another from captain Hamari Traoré (58') completed the rout and ensured Rennes took over from PSG as the league's highest goal scorers. Louis Mafouta pulled one back for Metz three minutes from time.
"After a difficult game against Leicester City on Thursday, my players pleasantly surprised me with their intensity levels," said Rennes coach Bruno Génésio. "We made it easier by scoring quickly and this win says a lot about the quality of the team as well as the individual and collective talent. It shows that we have an extraordinary state of mind and a trust between the staff and the players."

Marseille edged out Nice 2-1 at the Orange Velodrome to move a point clear of Rennes in the second position.
An Arkadiusz Milik penalty (45') and Cedric Bakambu's header one minute from time was enough to see off Christophe Galtier's men who themselves reduced the arrears in added time through Mario Lemina.

Reims and Lyon battled to a goalless draw at the Stade Auguste Delaune in a game that saw OL coach Peter Bosz sent to the stands. The results see Lyon occupying the tenth position, Reims sitting in 12th.

A despondent PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino added: "It is unacceptable to have started the game in the way we did, after that it was shameful. We must now move forward, get over the frustration of the Champions League exit and think about giving the best of ourselves with a competitive mind."
