CHICAGO (March 21, 2022) – U.S. Men’s National Team forward Brenden Aaronson has been ruled out of the BioSteel USMNT Training Camp roster ahead of the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers. Aaronson suffered a knee injury during training this past weekend will not be sufficiently recovered in time for the matches. The 26-player roster will continue training tomorrow in Houston.
STATEMENT After reviewing the updated medical information and in consultation with Red Bull Salzburg, we have determined that Brenden Aaronson would not be available to play in the upcoming World Cup Qualifying matches. We were hopeful he would be able to recover in time; unfortunately, that will not be the case. We hope he makes a speedy recovery.
