By Sean McCaffery, March 2, 2021

Along with the jersey paying tribute to those who have been key in this Covid fight, the team has also established a "Heroes Row" for all games to host these Heroes.

To help show off these new jerseys, NYCFC features local residents who have been there since day one of the team as well as those who helped team and town over this rough pandemic time.

In the photos below, see Jamie out of Washington Heights. he in a Nurse Practitioner, is of course a frontline worker in this battle. Oumou, of Mali, now lives in the Bronx. Since 2010, she has been with City in  the Community, coaching, bringing home the world's most popular sport to the young ones. Both stand for all in NYC who are established here and are doing their thing while lending their talents to the greater good.

The first Academy player signed to the team, James Sands and the first player out of he Bronx, Tayvon Gray, also an Academy product, are involved in this roll out as well. They stand for the players of all times-keys in building NYCFC.

On the shirt are the typical colors of the team with tonal striped patterns paying homage to the various garb of NYC municipal workers. Thee white trim harkens back to their original jersey from 2015, but with an updated take. The NYC flag in reinterpreted atop the players name on the back, a bold statement of he wherewithal and strength of city residents.

James Sands stated "I am especially proud to wear this new shirt this year because it represents New York City as a whole. The city has gone through so much and we would not be here without our frontline and essential workers, When we put on the shirt, we are proud to represent out supporters, our city and our local heroes."
