Forward Ifeoma Onumonu agreed to a one year deal to compete with once more with her club in the NWSL, the top women's league on the globe.
IIfeoma informed "I am very excited t sign a new contract to stay with Sky Blue. Although we didn't get a true NWSL season in 2020, I felt that the Challenge Cup and Fall Series exposed how much this team in capable of. I like the direction in which this team is headed. I feel tremendous support from my teammates and the coaching staff as well as the success we will have in the future."
HC Coombe added "Ify had a fantastic start to her career with Sky Blue. She works diligently to develop her game, I am excited to see her reach new highs with Sky Blue."
She joined the club almost a year ago now, and made her impact felt with her starting as early as the Challenge Cup. She had time in all ten matches during this, her first year with the club, netting 3 goals and an assist, a pass completion rate of 76%, 11 being key passes.
GM LaHue told "Ify progressed tremendously as the year went on and we are looking forward to the opportunity to see her continued growth and contributions the success of the club next season."
Training begins Feb. 1, mid-April will see the return of the Challenge Cup, then 2 dozen games for the season from mid-May.
