Try this trio of names Cirovski, Wiecks & Barr for college, HS & youth soccer respectively. This is bestowed upon members with a long term dedication and positive contributions to their game with constant giving of service to the assoc.
Sasho Cirovski, HC Univ. MD, the Bill Jeffrey College Long-Term Service Award. This proponent of a split season for the college game will get his innovation a bit of a dry run in the spring if all are lucky . A USC member since 1989 and HC at MD since '93, he took the Terrapins to the top of the game with a trio of titles 2005, '09 & '18, 9 College Cups, 15 conf. titles and 25 NCAA's. As he is in his 30th year as a HC and 28th at MD his overall record is 424-164-62 with the Terps, 398-151-55.
He has sought to raise the level of the game and is thought of as a leader in the game, evidenced by his long standing chair of the D1 Coaches Committee. He was the force of nature that lead to the assoc. getting a full timer in for the college game, leading to more tv games, a stronger position in the NCAA and having all improve their facilities, better market themselves and help the College Cup.
Reid Wiecks, Robert W. Robinson HS Long-Term Service Award, Colorado. A member since 1980 with his 31 years as a HS coach beginning in HI, beginning the girls team in 1974, then onto the boys in the first year of the JV program, finally to Lewis-Palmer HS in CO, 1988-2008. A trio of USC Regional Coach of the Year Awards, 8x district r conf. coach of the year, 3 state titles, 3x runners up with 6 district and 4 regional titles. Paradise was also good to him with a quartet of 4 HI Prep Academy Girl's titles and 1 state runner up for the boys.
He has been on a number of USC Coaches award committees for years from the Reg. 7 Girl's HS Coach of the Year for the past 23. Having been the HS Long-Term Service Award committee member from 1998-2014 he was also the chair of it from 2008-'14 and CO St. Girl's Coach of the Year Rep. 1997-2015.
Mike Barr PA, Charlotte Moran Youth Long-Term Service Award. With USC since 1981 and now the TD for East. PA YSA as he was DOC for 27 years, The boys coach at Kennett HS in Kennett Sq., PA following 20 years at Strath Haven HS and their 5 PIAA state wins.
This ex-special Ed teacher has been very active with TOPSoccer and key in the first HS Diploma course of USC. Part of the assoc. academy staff, Mike taught courses at the state, regional and national levels. A 5 year clinician at the Conventions and on the local organizing committees for those held in Philly, the one I attended, terrific.
