Riding high on a couple of wins, but brought back down to earth, NYRB became the 9th team in a row unable to defeat the Oscar Pareja coached Orlando City team. The biggest difference for me was not that the hosts were much better, but more so that NY just did not shoot enough. Open shots were turned into passes, too many touches and then shut down. If you do not shoot, you do not score it really is that simple. In watching the PL games today it was made so clear that is one main differences in the 2 levels of play. Less than 24 hours to draw the same comparison I have made before, this just helped to once again reaffirm it. Yes the two the Red Bulls beat are not setting the world afire and yes Orlando is playing better than they have ever, not so difficult to do, but with so much of their core still intact from seasons past, it should be a strong point coming up against a team that over the last 2 years has been more than overhauled. The defense let up 3 not a usual event but then again they had yet to drop a game this season in which they have scored. They got one back late, it made no never mind, the urgency that most teams play with in the waning minutes would serve them well for longer stretches, fall behind play as if there are scant minutes to go, force the issue get one back fall back recover from the heavier workload you were just under, maybe? As in most games, yes there were a number of errant passes, none did much damage. Maybe back to some home cooking will help? On a good note, Ryan Meara dressed.
