By Sean McCaffery, August 12, 2020

As explained in earlier writings, the time has now been determined for when the region will set the journies for the 35 member nations to compete in getting to Qatar. This event is set for Aug. 19 @1900 CET and streamed on FIFA.com, conducted of course in the home of FIFA, Zurich. At that time, the first and final rounds will be known as per the new rules of qualification. The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings on July 16 of 2020 are the basis for this happening as the lowest 30 go into 6 groups. Next will be the final round, putting into place the spots for the teams in the last stage also to be done in group format.

The top half dozen of these teams are pre selected in their groups, El Salvador, Canada, Curacao, Panama, Haiti, Trindad & Tobago will head groups A-F and a single game elimination will have each team getting 4 games half home the other away.

The 2nd round has the 6 group winners then going at it in a home-and-away fashion in 3 pre set groups. each winner moves onto the final round.

The final round has those group winners meeting up with the 5 top Concacaf teams all going after the next in again a home-and-away format.

If you live in the territories where the draw is being conducted it will be live on TV.
