NCFC Shore Up the Backstop Position

NCFC has been abuzz with activity of late, coaching staff complete and adding players at what seams on the daily. From the highest of levels in the USL Championship for these 2 most recent seasons, Alex Tambakis is back in the fold. 

The Greek Goalie has since linking up with NCFC 2 years ago gotten 15 shutouts, 3rd in team lore with 8 last year and a 75.21save %, placing him in the top 10 of the league.

HC Dave Sarachan stated "One of our top priorities was to secure Alex for another season with us. He was a mainstay for us, making important saves and continuing to grow as a player."

For last season, he had 91 saves in the regualr season and was tops in save % of all gk's facing 120+ shots, making the league's 2nd Best XI and voted by his teammates to the MVP.

In 2018 he received 4 league Save of the Month honors, 2019 had him achive a league-high 5 SOTM victories, bolstering his being known as among the leagues most energizing net minders. The starter in the lions share of games this past season, NCFC had its best GAA since 2011 at 1.09 and he was busy, making 5 or more saves during 9 different games.

A native of Athens Greece, Alex had been with MLS side ATL UTD to go with legendary Greek team Panathinaikos of the Super League in his native land.
